I am a long-term Windows user. I started with Windows 97 which I reached when I was in high school. I think its been 2 years that I used windows 97 until the school have the Windows XP. Throughout the years in my high school life I dont have the knowledge about the different computer OS until in my tertiary level my professor had introduced to me the Linux.
Why does he introduced Linux?
Firstly, he said that Linux is not much loggy and does not hang for a moment. We used the Fedora developed by the community-supported Fedora Project. For full readings about Fedora please follow the below links.

Secondly, Linux does not require to install an anti virus. Why? Because most people used Windows so they focus on coding with the EXE that attacked Windows rather than penetrating the Linux code. Linux can get a few virus but not much to come a time that you get irritated.
Which Do You Now Prefer?
For me, if you are a programmer you have to choose Linux. But if you are just browsing the net for a research and if you want a quite fair look with your PC or laptop you can use this then. Windows is like the favorite of the crowd, the look is stylish and thousand of software that you can install in. You have to pick among them based on your needs.
And for this year I think I switched less than a ten times from Windows to Linux and Linux to Windows.
